Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Police in Jigawa State has arrested 279 motorcyclists for violating the state government\u2019s order on the restriction of movement.<\/p>\n

Recall that the Jigawa State Government had banned the movements of motorcycles from 9pm to 6am to check insecurity.<\/p>\n

Police Spokesman ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the arrest to DAILY POST.<\/p>\n

He said the move is part of measures adopted by the state government to ensure maximum security of its citizens.<\/p>\n

Shiisu explained that following the executive order by the Jigawa State Governor, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, the police swung into action to ensure the total enforcement of the order.<\/p>\n

According to him \u201cwe were able to arrest Two Hundred and Seventy-Nine motorcyclists across the State and Two Hundred and Twenty Three Ninety have been charged to court for prosecution\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

The Command, however, called on motorcycle riders in the state to comply with the order as it will not relent in its efforts to deal decisively with any violator.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
