The choice of the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Kayode
\nFayemi as the chairman of the Inter Agency Task Team (IATT) programme
\nto commemorate the 2017 International Anti-Corruption Day held in
\nAbuja yesterday, has been likened to a case of \u201ccorruption condemning
\ncorruption.\u201d<\/p>\n
Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Public Communications
\nand New Media, Lere Olayinka, who reacted to Fayemi\u2019s comment that
\nNigeria must say no to impunity and eliminate the syndrome of \u2018sacred
\ncows\u2019 for the fight against corruption to succeed, said; \u201cFayemi
\noffering solution to the corruption fight is like notorious armed
\nrobbers like Oyenusi and Shina Rambo giving lecture on how to stop
\narmed robbery.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said it was funny that Fayemi was not even ashamed to sermonise on
\nthe need to say no to impunity and eliminate the syndrome of sacred
\ncows, when he, himself acted like a sacred cow by refusing to appear
\nbefore a commission of inquiry, duly constituted to probe his four
\nyears as governor of Ekiti State.<\/p>\n
Olayinka, who said President Muhammadu Buhari must stop deceiving
\nhimself with his fight against corruption, said he personally
\nchallenged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) acting
\nchairman, Ibrahim Magu at a function in Abuja on the commission\u2019s
\nrefusal to investigate Fayemi, despite the loads of petitions against
\nhim and the EFCC boss could not offer any explanation.<\/p>\n
The governor\u2019s spokesperson said; \u201cThe reality is that President
\nBuhari is leading a government of scandalously corrupt people and one
\nof them is Dr Kayode Fayemi.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is even safe to say that President Buhari is the father of
\ncorruption and that has been further established by the attitude of
\nthe President towards his men that have been accused of corruption.<\/p>\n
