Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>After one hundred and eighteen (118) days in captivity, bandits in Northwest Nigeria, have released 90 abducted students and staff of Federal Government College (FGC), Birnin Yauri in Kebbi State.<\/p>\n

The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, DSP Nafi\u2019u Abubakar confirmed the release of the students and their teachers to newsmen but did not make further clarification.<\/p>\n

A father of one of the abducted students, who preferred not to be mentioned, also confirmed the release of the students.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes. They were released yesterday but are still with the authorities. They are expected to undergo some medical check up before they are released to parents,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Asked whether there was ransom paid before the bandits released the students, he said, \u201cI am not going to speak on that. I hope the authorities are in the position to explain better\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
