Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The state congress of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State has commenced in Port Harcourt, the state capital.<\/p>\n

The exercise is taking place at Polo club in GRA.<\/p>\n

Accreditation for delegates from the 23 local government areas of the state started around 8 am on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Security has also been beefed up around the area as a section of the road leading to the venue has been closed to traffic.<\/p>\n

Participants as well as journalists covering the area are being subjected to thorough search before being allowed access into the venue.<\/p>\n

The exercise is coming amid calls by some APC members loyal to senator Magnus Abe for the congress to be postponed until the crisis within the party is resolved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
