Africa-Press<\/a> – Nigeria<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu said the final report of the Judicial Panel of Enquiry and Restitution, formed after the EndSARS protest in 2020, is being awaited.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, he assured that the state government would make full disclosure of the report to the public.<\/p>\n

The governor guaranteed that his administration would not make an attempt to cover up the findings and recommendations.<\/p>\n

Sanwo-Olu said the report would be helpful in strengthening true reconciliation and preventing the re-occurrence of the civil unrest.<\/p>\n

The governor explained that the panel was set up to probe allegations of rights abuse against the police and determine the cause of coordinated attacks on Lagos.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe do not know the content of the report, but we want to say publicly that, upon the handover of the report, we will be making it public.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will not cover up anything. This is not who we are and that is not what our government stands for. We will make full disclosure of recommendations\u201d, Sanwo-Olu said.<\/p>\n

The judicial panel, chaired by Justice Doris Okuwobi, concluded its sittings on Monday, one year after it was constituted.<\/p>\n

The members include retired DIG Taiwo Lakanu (Police), Lucas Koyejo (National Human Rights Commission), Segun Awosanya (Segalink) and Oluwatoyin Odusanya (Citizens Right).<\/p>\n

Others are Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN), Patience Udoh (Civil society), Rinuola Oduala and Temitope Majekodunmi (Youths reps). Oduala stepped down in February, alleging \u201ccover-up\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
