Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The authorities of the Boripe North Local Council Development Authority, Iree has been given a seven-day ultimatum to vacate the property being used as its secretariat on account of a N1,000:000:00 outstanding rent or face legal action.<\/p>\n

The owner of the property, Alhaji Kadiri Adepoju had issued the ultimatum via his Counsel, Dr. D. A. Ariyoosu.<\/p>\n

According to information made available to this medium, the property was given out on rent in 2016 at the creation of the LCDA by the administration of former Governor, Rauf Aregbesola.<\/p>\n

It was learnt that the property was given cheaply to the LCDA by the owner on agreement that it will maintain the property and pay electricity bills but disagreement arose when the owner, Alhaji Adepoju accused them of not taking care of the property.<\/p>\n

As a result, Boripe North LCDA was asked to vacate the property, pay the outstanding rent and electricity bills to date.<\/p>\n

The document reads, \u201cYour Authority is to pay the accumulated arrears consumption bills up to date and effect necessary repairs before delivering up possession of the aforesaid premises.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is our hope that your authority would avail itself of the opportunity of paying the rent and deliver up possession and avoid the unpalatable consequences of litigation with its attendant publicity and embarrassment.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the most unlikely event of the failure of your authority to quit and deliver up possession of the premises and pay the arrears of rent within the period stated, this letter serves as a NOTICE OF INTENTION TO SUE and in which case, we hereby state our client\u2019s cause of action.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Chairman of Boripe North LCDA, Oyebode Samson Oyewole, when contacted initially denied the existence of any quit notice but later stated they he had no time to speak on the matter.<\/p>\n
