1. The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba has said he is not aware of any request for the extradition of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari. He spoke on Thursday while briefing State House reporters at the Ministerial briefing, organised by the Presidential Communication Team, at the State House, Abuja.<\/p>\n

2. Dogo Gide, a notorious armed bandit, has imposed a ban on the sale and consumption of alcohol and other dangerous drugs in some communities in Dansadau Emirate in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The notorious bandit, who has a base in Kuyanbana forest straddling Zamfara, Kaduna, Niger and Kebbi states, has asserted control over Babbar Doka, a community.<\/p>\n

3. The impeached Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon Abok Ayuba, on Thursday held a parallel plenary following his impeachment. The embattled speaker alongside other members of the house held the session at Zawan Community Hall in Bukuru, Jos South Local Government Area of the State.<\/p>\n

4. Former Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko has joined the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, hours after meeting with four of the governors, led by its chairman of the Governors\u2019 Forum and Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal. Mimiko\u2019s defection to the PDP is coming the third time after leaving the party in 2019 to form the Labour Party LP which later changed to Zenith Labour Party ZLP.<\/p>\n

5. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has said that the Bank is sensitising Nigerians to become security conscious and be able to identify fraudsters and fraudulent schemes. It said the institution was also collaborating with security agencies to arrest fraudsters who had defrauded Nigerians via ponzi schemes and other fraudulent actions in the country.<\/p>\n

6. The Police Command in Anambra State has promised to provide a conducive environment in the State for a hitch-free governorship poll on November 6. The Commissioner of Police, Mr Echeng Echeng, made the promise at a news briefing on Thursday in Awka.<\/p>\n

7. The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, on Thursday faulted the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed\u2019s recent claim that the country is better today in terms of security than it was in 2015 when President Buhari took over. CAN\u2019s Director of National Issues and Social Welfare, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, made known the position of the apex Christian body in an interview in Abuja.<\/p>\n

8. The Permanent Secretary, State House, Umar Tijjani, said on Thursday that President, Muhammadu Buhari, had approved the construction and equipping of a 14-bed space Presidential Clinic at a cost of N21bn. Tijani stated this when he appeared before the Senate Committee on Federal Character and Inter-Governmental Affairs, to present his 2022 budget proposal for consideration.<\/p>\n

9. Dr. Uchechi Iweala, son of the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has broken a medical record in Maryland, United States. On Thursday, the WTO boss announced that her son was one of the first spinal surgeons in Maryland to perform a successful navigated lumbar spinal fusion using a robot.<\/p>\n

10. President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, said it is vital for African governments to renew their social compact with the citizenry so as to improve governance, development and build institutions that promote inclusive security and prosperity. Buhari spoke on Thursday in Abuja at the 5th Conference of the Network of African Parliamentarians for Defence and Security Committees of the House of Representatives.<\/p>\n
