{"id":52637,"date":"2021-11-01T13:33:23","date_gmt":"2021-11-01T12:33:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/biafra-agitators-court-to-hear-cngs-case-demanding-referendum"},"modified":"2021-11-01T14:28:35","modified_gmt":"2021-11-01T13:28:35","slug":"biafra-agitators-court-to-hear-cngs-case-demanding-referendum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/economy\/biafra-agitators-court-to-hear-cngs-case-demanding-referendum","title":{"rendered":"Biafra agitators: Court to hear CNG\u2019s case demanding referendum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A Federal High Court, Abuja, will today entertain the suit filed by the leadership of the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) asking for a referendum for Biafra agitators.<\/p>\n<p>DAILY POST recalls that in June, the coalition had sued the National Assembly praying the court to force the defendants to suspend the ongoing constitutional review exercise.<\/p>\n<p>Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, the spokesman of the CNG, explained that a judge had been assigned to hear the suit.<\/p>\n<p>The leaders of the group and the suit filed by the plaintiffs, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, Nastura Ashir Shariff, Aminu Adam and Balarabe Rufa\u2019i l joined the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami; Senate President, Ahmad Lawan; Speaker, House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; and the National Assembly as defendants.<\/p>\n<p>According to the CNG, the defendants should immediately provide a framework for the actualisation of agitators\u2019 demand for self-determination instead of constitutional review.<\/p>\n<p>According to the CNG spokesman, \u201cOne of the issues for determination before this Hon.
