Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has dismissed reports making the rounds that bandits from Zamfara and Katsina states were relocating to Kano State.<\/p>\n

The report alleged that the bandits, escaping the onslaught of security forces, were believed to have infiltrated Kano state through some communities in Shanono, Gwarzo and Kabo local government areas of the state, where they are involved in illegal mining.<\/p>\n

This was contained in a statement issued by the Command\u2019s Spokesman, DSC Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi, in Kano on Monday.<\/p>\n

He said that: \u201cThe above information is verified to be untrue\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn Oct. 28, at about 9:00 a.m, some people were seen on motorcycles moving from Danguzuri village in Makarfi Local Government in Kaduna State. They went through Zarewa village in Kano State, along Beli road to Babbarika, to a settlement belonging to one Alhaji Shehu Danfulani to attend a wedding and naming ceremony at the settlement.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the celebration, they all returned to where they came from,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Idris-Abdullahi noted that the Village Head of Zarewa and Shehu Danfulani have all been interviewed by security agents and they confirmed the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom our investigation so far, no bandits have relocated to Gwarzo, Kabo and Shanono local government areas, as well as Dansoshiya forest,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He, however, added that the command, in collaboration with other security agents, would continue to intensify surveillance to avoid any unwanted development.<\/p>\n
