{"id":52723,"date":"2021-11-02T17:21:39","date_gmt":"2021-11-02T16:21:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/anambra-2021-politicians-responsible-for-security-crisis-soludo"},"modified":"2021-11-02T17:22:53","modified_gmt":"2021-11-02T16:22:53","slug":"anambra-2021-politicians-responsible-for-security-crisis-soludo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/anambra-2021-politicians-responsible-for-security-crisis-soludo","title":{"rendered":"Anambra 2021: Politicians responsible for security crisis \u2013 Soludo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Professor Charles Soludo, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, for the November governorship election in Anambra State, has accused politicians of being responsible for the ongoing security crisis in the State.<\/p>\n<p>While many people mostly in government have maintained that members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, are responsible for the current crisis in the state, Soludo believes that politicians should be held responsible.<\/p>\n<p>He suggested that Andy Uba, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC for the upcoming election might have a better explanation as to why the security situation in the state has deteriorated over the last couple of months<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during the Anambra governorship election debate put together by Arise TV and Enough is Enough and monitored by DAILY POST, Soludo said, \u201cAnambra had until the last few months remained about the safest state in Nigeria and the Governor had been decorated with several awards for keeping Anambra about the safest state in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe insecurity in Anambra is a recent phenomenon. Very recently and I think my brother on the right-hand side[Andy Uba] when he responds might be able to tell a little more about part of the reason this is happening.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut Anambra has remained largely, a safe haven: real estate booming, businesses booming, hospitality industry and so on and so forth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd recently, it is a challenge and the Governor as the Chief security has risen to the challenge. By the way, all the security agency as you know, are within the purview of the Federal Government but we\u2019ve got a security architecture in which the federal forces have been working in tandem with the local vigilantes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost of the recent upsurge of insecurity in Anambra is politically motivated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are some people who think they gain political advantage by creating a sense of fear and insecurity so that they can suppress voters.
