Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Nigerian Army has confirmed the raid of Indigeneous People of Biafra (IPOB) hideouts in Enugu.<\/p>\n

The operation at the Eastern Security Network (ESN) camp was carried out Monday night in Mgbowo under Agwu Local Government Area.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Tuesday, Major Abubakar Abdullahi, acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations said two IPOB ESN ring leaders were arrested.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are currently undergoing interrogation with a security agency\u201d, the spokesman added.<\/p>\n

Abdullahi said there was no incident of indiscriminate firing or unprovoked burning of houses during the raid.<\/p>\n

He noted that the trending videos in circulation claiming to represent the aftermath were not during the Agwu operation.<\/p>\n

\u201cInvestigation into the video is ongoing to ascertain when and where it was shot and those involved.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny personnel found culpable would be sanctioned accordingly. Updates will be communicated when investigation is completed\u201d, Abdullahi added.<\/p>\n
