Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Rio Ferdinand has warned that Manchester United will get \u2018slapped\u2019 by Manchester City in this weekend\u2019s derby at Old Trafford if they put up the sloppy performance they displayed against Atalanta on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

By being \u2018slapped\u2019 again the former England defender was referring to United\u2019s disappointing 5-0 defeat to Liverpool two weekends ago.<\/p>\n

Ferdinand noted that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer\u2019s side were in \u2018disarray\u2019 for much of Tuesday\u2019s Champions League tie against Atalanta.<\/p>\n

It was Cristiano Ronaldo that once again rescued United with a superb late goal to earn them a draw against Atalanta.<\/p>\n

Their next game is a Premier League clash with arch-rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford and Ferdinand has warned his former club against replicating their Atalanta display against Pep Guardiola\u2019s side.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Manchester United] can\u2019t have that second-half performance against Man City. If they do they get slapped again,\u201d Ferdinand told BT Sport.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be three, four or five because it shows a real lack of respect for the opposition, being really fragmentised, slack and sloppy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe intensity wasn\u2019t there. It was disarray, it was just hope. It came down to a moment of brilliance and Ronaldo has saved them again.\u201d<\/p>\n
