Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Former presidential candidate, Kingsley Moghalu has criticized the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, ahead of Saturday\u2019s governorship election in Anambra State.<\/p>\n

Moghalu said the tactics used by IPOB harms the people of the South-East greatly.<\/p>\n

In a series of tweets, the former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, said the sit-at-home order by IPOB was a challenge.<\/p>\n

He accused the government of failing to handle the issue of IPOB properly.<\/p>\n

According to Moghalu, rather than rely on force, the government should opt for negotiation.<\/p>\n

Moghalu urged the people of the State to file out and perform their civic right on Saturday.<\/p>\n

He wrote: \u201cThe complex problem of the IPOB sit-at-home order is a challenge. But that\u2019s why there is a heavy security presence.<\/p>\n

\u201c@NigeriaGov has not handled the IPOB issue well, with its exclusive reliance on force instead of including dialogue among its options in what is essentially a political conflict that has turned into criminality.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven worse is the failure and illegitimacy of the region\u2019s traditional political elite, a vacuum IPOB occupied. But IPOB\u2019s tactics are harming the Igbo greatly.<\/p>\n

\u201cSay what anyone may, the violence, state of fear, and staggering economic productivity losses, increase rather than reverse marginalization and steals hope from the future of our young people in the region. Vote on Saturday. Vote for our hopes, not for our fears.\u201d<\/p>\n

IPOB, under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu, has resorted to civil disobedience in pursuit for the actualization of Biafra.<\/p>\n

Following Kanu\u2019s arrest, the separatist group ordered a sit-at-home across the Southeast to push for his release.<\/p>\n

The latest sit-at-home order starts tomorrow, while the Anambra governorship election holds on Saturday.<\/p>\n
