Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Some unknown persons have smashed the skull of an 11-year-old Almajiri from a Qur\u2019anic school at Kofar Wambai area of Bauchi metropolis, and left with his brain.<\/p>\n

It was gathered from residents of the area that someone called two pupils, telling them that he wanted to give them something and subsequently lured them to where the 11-year-old Almajiri\u2019s head was smashed with a stone.<\/p>\n

According to the residents, who pleaded not to be named, it was the second boy who escaped, who they said was in shock, that narrated what happened to them, adding that they went to the scene where they saw the remains of the boy.<\/p>\n

They added that upon the discovery, they promptly acted by informing the police about the development.<\/p>\n

Confirming the incident, the Bauchi State Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, informed that a good Samaritan reported the incident to the police.<\/p>\n

According to the police spokesman, a Superintendent of Police (SP), \u201cPolice received a distress call from a good Samaritan that an unknown person had used a stone to break the skull of the Almajiri pupil.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe two Qur\u2019anic school pupils, Muhammad Yunusa -11 years and Aminu Yusuf -12 years old were deceived by unknown persons who used that stone to break the skull of Yunusa and ran to unknown destination.\u201d<\/p>\n

The PPRO informed that upon the receipt of the distress call, police personnel immediately mobilized to the scene of the crime, where they met Yunus lying in the pool of his blood.<\/p>\n

According to Wakil, \u201cthey (police) took him to the Bauchi Specialist Hospital, Bauchi, where a medical doctor certified him dead.\u201d<\/p>\n

He explained that the state Commissioner of Police, Sylvester Abiodun Alabi, had directed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of \u201cA\u201d Division to act on the case with immediate effect.<\/p>\n

He added that CP Alabi further directed that no stone must be left unturned in arresting the perpetrators of the act in order to bring them to book.<\/p>\n

The PPRO then advised parents and guardians to always monitor the movement of their children and wards, adding that, \u201cthey should not allow them to answer calls from strangers in the name of giving them something.\u201d<\/p>\n
