Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Tony Adams has advised Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta to drop his captain and highest-paid player, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, from Arsenal squad.<\/p>\n

Aubameyang is the highest-paid player at the Emirates with a weekly wage of \u00a3250,000 but his current performance for the club no longer match that wage.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old has now gone four games without a goal following another poor showing against Newcastle on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Aubameyang, who played in the absence of Alexandre Lacazette, struggled to make an impact and recorded the miss of the season when he somehow struck the post when just four yards out from a virtually unguarded goal.<\/p>\n

The Gabon international has also missed his last two penalties and Adams, a former Arsenal legend, believes Arteta would be best served by taking Aubameyang out of the firing line.<\/p>\n

He noted that former boss, Arsene Wenger would have dropped the player on bench long before now.<\/p>\n

He told Stadium Astro: \u201cYou\u2019ve got the Aubameyang question where he\u2019s not scoring, he\u2019s not firing on all cylinders and you\u2019ve got people like Lacazette.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you actually take Aubameyang out of the team and give Martinelli a run or Lacazette a run and say I\u2019m going to take you out?<\/p>\n

\u201cArsene Wenger would have done. It might be best to give him a rest for a few weeks and then in the New Year, last six months. he can give me a good run.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere could be a cause for taking him out of the team at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n
