Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Nigerian music star, Wizkid has reacted to his emergence as the winner of the Apple music African artist of the year.<\/p>\n

Apple announced Wizkid as the 2021 African artist of the year on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Wizkid\u2019s hit song \u201cEssence,\u201d a track from his \u2018Made In Lagos\u2019 album, gained 125 million plays on Apple Music and over 2.8 million Shazams.<\/p>\n

Wizkid receiving the award expressed gratitude to Apple, describing the award as a blessing.<\/p>\n

He said he was proud to represent Africa.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you to Apple Music for this award, it\u2019s a blessing to get to do what I do, and I\u2019m proud to be representing Africa,\u201d Wizkid said.<\/p>\n
