1. Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday, shifted downward the trial of the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, from January 19 to 18 next year.<\/p>\n

2. Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo yesterday, said problems like poverty facing Nigeria will multiply if the country faces breakup. He said this while receiving a delegation of the Muhammadu Buhari \/Osinbajo (MBO) Dynamic Support Group at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Thursday.<\/p>\n

3. Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has said the process of selecting the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 election will be turbulent. Wike, who spoke in an interview with a national television in Port Harcourt. on Thursday, said the process will not be easy.<\/p>\n

4. Kaduna State has announced the plan to dismiss 233 teachers who presented fake certificates. Alhaji Tijjahi Abdullahi, Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB), stated this at a news briefing on Thursday.<\/p>\n

5. Justice Binta Nyako of the federal high court in Abuja on Thursday issued a stern warning to Mr Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lawyer to the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu to stop writing letters directly to her in respect of the trial of his client.<\/p>\n

6. The campaign office of Sen. Barau Jibrin, a governorship hopeful and an arch-opponent of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, was burnt to ashes in Kano on Wednesday night. The State Police Commissioner, Ismaila Dikko, confirmed the incident, saying his men have taken over the area for assessment.<\/p>\n

7. The Imo State Police Command on Thursday paraded a suspected 35-year-old, Pastor, Izuchukwu Anoloba, of the Apostolic Church of Christ in Eziama Osuama, Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, for allegedly kidnapping a 45-year-old Catholic Priest, Reverend Father Fidelis Ekemgba.<\/p>\n

8. Ahead of the 2023 general election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday, appealed to the Senate Chief Whip, Sen. Orji Kalu to return to the party. The National Secretary of the Party, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, made the appeal when he led a delegation of members of the PDP to visit Kalu in his Abuja residence.<\/p>\n
