{"id":54825,"date":"2021-12-07T19:05:05","date_gmt":"2021-12-07T18:05:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/?p=54825"},"modified":"2021-12-07T18:18:31","modified_gmt":"2021-12-07T17:18:31","slug":"anthony-joshua-could-accept-40m-to-step-aside-for-fury-vs-usyk-fight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/sport\/anthony-joshua-could-accept-40m-to-step-aside-for-fury-vs-usyk-fight","title":{"rendered":"Anthony Joshua could accept \u00a340m to step aside for Fury vs Usyk fight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Anthony Joshua\u2019s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has hinted the boxer would be willing to step aside and allow Tyson Fury to face Oleksandr Usyk for \u00a340million.<\/p>\n<p>Joshua was beaten conclusively by Usyk in September and lost his unified heavyweight titles via unanimous decision.<\/p>\n<p>He has since triggered a rematch clause and is scheduled to fight Ukrainian in March or April next year.<\/p>\n<p>However, there has been speculation that Joshua will instead accept an offer to step aside for a potential bout between Usyk and Fury, which would crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion in over two decades.<\/p>\n<p>Fury, who retained his WBC title by knocking out Deontay Wilder, was on the verge of agreeing to face Dillian Whyte in his next bout, but the WBC refused to name him as the Gypsy King\u2019s mandatory challenger.<\/p>\n<p>He has therefore turned his attention to an undisputed battle with Usyk.<\/p>\n<p>Hearn has now suggested a price that will see Joshua step aside.<\/p>\n<p>He told Boxing King Media: \u201cSeven figures? A million?
