Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara State has commiserated with his Sokoto State counterpart, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, over Tuesday\u2019s heartbreaking incident where a bus from Sabon Birni village in the state was intercepted and set ablaze by suspected bandits.<\/p>\n

In a press statement signed and issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Hon. Zailani Bappa, the demise of 42 persons was not only dastardly but a glaring sign of the desperate attempt by the bandits to further instil fear and apprehension across the North-West zone.<\/p>\n

Governor Matawalle, who is currently on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), said he was shaken and momentarily dumbfounded by the news of the ugly development.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe in Zamfara State are familiar with many of their antics which is seemingly assuming different dimensions. We share at this moment our deep sympathy to those who lost their dear ones and pray that God Almighty will accept the martyrdom of the deceased\u201d, the statement read.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to extend to my brother, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal the solidarity of our people over the attack. Together, we shall continue to join hands in fighting these miscreants so as to free our people from the present bondage and fear created by their nefarious activities in our region.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Governor Matawalle, now, more than ever before, the states in the northwestern zone must further put their acts together to finish the good works already started which is increasingly making an impact on the bandits and their enclaves.<\/p>\n
