{"id":55153,"date":"2021-12-11T18:12:27","date_gmt":"2021-12-11T17:12:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/?p=55153"},"modified":"2021-12-11T16:43:43","modified_gmt":"2021-12-11T15:43:43","slug":"kaduna-bandits-flee-after-battling-troops-at-sabon-tasha-gra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/kaduna-bandits-flee-after-battling-troops-at-sabon-tasha-gra","title":{"rendered":"Kaduna: Bandits flee after battling troops at Sabon Tasha GRA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Suspected bandits in the wee hours on Saturday stormed Sabon Tasha GRA in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State to kidnap innocent citizens.<\/p>\n<p>However, combined troops responded to distress calls and arrived at the scene immediately only for the bandits to set a house of their victim on fire.<\/p>\n<p>A resident in the area who spoke to DAILY POST on Saturday, Didan Auta, said they heard sporadic shootings after which they called the troops, who saved the day.<\/p>\n<p>Another resident told this medium that the bandits invaded the community around 12:30 am.<\/p>\n<p>A resident, who simply identified himself as Benjamin, said the bandits had set a house on fire and were about carrying out a house-to-house raid when soldiers arrived.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe thank God the soldiers arrived on time if not the story would have been bad because they (bandits) came to pick the house owner but fortunately \u200ethe house was empty and the bandits set the house on fire out of frustration,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Sabon Tasha GRA has been under consistent attack by bandits since the beginning of this month.
