Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, has wished Gernot Rohr all the best after he was sacked as Super Eagles head coach.<\/p>\n

Rohr was sacked by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) after more than five years in charge.<\/p>\n

The Franco-German had been in charge since 2016, leading the team to the 2018 World Cup and 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, where Nigeria finished third.<\/p>\n

However, the performance of the team over the last 12 months made his position untenable, despite qualifying the team for next year\u2019s AFCON and the 2022 World Cup playoffs.<\/p>\n

Osimhen wrote on social media: \u201cThank you for everything coach and I wish you all the best.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old made his Super Eagles debut under Rohr in 2017 and has now become the country\u2019s undisputed talisman.<\/p>\n

Osimhen scored 10 goals in 19 games under Rohr.<\/p>\n
