Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested four suspects and impounded 21 cars following the full enforcement of Regulation 228 of the Road Traffic Act on the prohibition of illegal car races and other similar offences, in the nation\u2019s capital.<\/p>\n

DAILY POST reports that the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Babaji Sunday, had ordered all the Divisional Police Officers and their supervisory Area Commanders in Abuja to ensure that those involved in illegal car racing, acceleration contests, speed competitions or test of physical endurance, amongst others in Abuja are arrested.<\/p>\n

The order followed public outcry over the damages being recorded in different parts of the territory following car racing.<\/p>\n

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in FCT, DSP Josephine Adeh confirmed the arrests to DAILY POST on Monday.<\/p>\n

The PPRO added that the suspects were nabbed on Sunday around Muhammadu Buhari way, by Nikon Insurance Area where they converged for business as usual.<\/p>\n
