Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 12, Audu Adamu Madaki, has donated two cows to his officers and men working in the zonal headquarters in Bauchi.<\/p>\n

Making the donation to the personnel, AIG Madaki informed that it was aimed to boost the morale of personnel and enhance their welfare, adding that, \u201cThis season is the best time to share the love with one another through the exchange of goodwill and gifts.\u201d<\/p>\n

A release made available to DAILY POST by the Zonal Public Relations Officer (ZPRO), Zone 12, SP Thomas Goni, stated that Madaki described Christmas as an important day for Christian faithful around the world, saying that the donation of the cows for personnel could be likened to the presentation of gifts to infant Jesus by the three wise men.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt (Christmas) is an important day for the Christian community around the world. However, it is celebrated with much enthusiasm by non-Christians too.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is symbolic of the presentation of the gift by the three wise men to the infant Jesus,\u201d Goni quoted the AIG as saying.<\/p>\n

He assured that he would not relent in his efforts to meet the basic needs of his personnel.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the AIG urged the personnel to extend his kind gesture to the underprivileged, such as civilian staff and widows, enjoining officers and communities around to reflect on the significance of the season with a view to committing to these virtues for the benefit of the zone.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is important for us to also understand the need for peaceful coexistence with other faithful for societal growth and zonal development.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the time to set religions and ethnicity aside, show love to the needy, beginning with our neighbours,\u201d AIG Madaki said.<\/p>\n

Receiving the two cows on behalf of beneficiaries, the Deputy Commissioner in charge of Administration, DCP Mohammed Lawal Yusufu, expressed gratitude to the AIG, saying that the gift was a statement that showed AIG Madaki cared about his subordinates.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a gesture of love that makes an enormous difference to a person,\u201d Yusufu said.<\/p>\n

He further submitted that the gesture was more than just a gift, adding that, \u201cit is a demonstration of feelings. In essence, it is a social lubricant, a way to celebrate life and love.\u201d<\/p>\n
