Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has said his principal is \u201cquite fine\u201d amid the outbreak of COVID-19 among his aides.<\/p>\n

Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, last week tested positive for COVID-19.<\/p>\n

There were also reports that other presidential aides had tested positive and are currently in isolation.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Channels Television on Sunday, Adesina said presidential aides are also humans.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I like to say is that presidential aides are just humans. They can fall sick. If anything happens to human beings, it can also happen to presidential aides,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fact that we are presidential aides does not make us immune to certain things. If there is a virus that is ravaging the society, well, it can touch anybody.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo Mallam Garba Shehu has confirmed that, yes, he tested positive but he said it\u2019s mild. I believe that by now, because it happened since Wednesday, he should have almost beaten it if he has not beat it already. There is no cause for alarm.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked how many presidential aides have contracted COVID-19, Adesina said it is not within his \u201cpurview\u201d to reveal the details.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat will not be within my purview to discuss, maybe if you get the presidential doctor or anybody on the medical side, they will tell you, I wouldn\u2019t know because it is a private thing,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

When asked if Buhari is currently in isolation as he may have come in contact with Shehu, he insisted the president is \u201cquite fine\u201d and is going on with his normal routine.<\/p>\n
