Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Suspected bandits have attacked Kerawa village in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State during the wee hours of Friday and kidnapped twelve persons.<\/p>\n

Among those kidnapped are ten women and two men.<\/p>\n

A resident in the area who is also a youth leader, Mr. Jamil Kerawa, told DAILY POST on Friday, in Kaduna that the bandits operated for hours freely.<\/p>\n

Another resident, Mustapha, who operates a kiosk in the community said the bandits kidnapped 12 people, comprising of two males and 12 females.<\/p>\n

He said one person was killed while another was seriously injured and was taken to an undisclosed hospital in Zaria.<\/p>\n

He said the lives of the residents in the community were in danger, adding that the presence of security operatives was scanty and that bandits operate anytime unchallenged.<\/p>\n

Some villages like Hayin Dam, Rago, Unguwar Salahu and Zariyawa were recently attacked and residents were displaced<\/p>\n

The Public Relations Officer, Kaduna Police Command, ASP Mohammed Jalige did not pick his calls and did not respond to text messages sent to him<\/p>\n
