{"id":57151,"date":"2022-01-10T14:24:13","date_gmt":"2022-01-10T13:24:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/breaking-nass-staff-protest-non-implementation-of-minimum-wage"},"modified":"2022-01-10T14:30:31","modified_gmt":"2022-01-10T13:30:31","slug":"breaking-nass-staff-protest-non-implementation-of-minimum-wage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/breaking-nass-staff-protest-non-implementation-of-minimum-wage","title":{"rendered":"BREAKING: NASS staff protest non-implementation of minimum wage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Staff working in the National Assembly, operating under the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), on Monday, embarked on a protest over the non-implementation of minimum wage.<\/p>\n<p>DAILY POST reports that the workers converged on the lobby of the white house of the National Assembly with placards condemning the action of the Chairman of the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) for breaching the memorandum of understanding (MoU) entered into in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>A copy of the resolutions to embark on protest dated 6th January 2022 and addressed to the Clerk to the National Assembly (CNA) which was sighted by DAILY POST, showed that the association raised six fundamental breaches by the NASS management that triggered the protest.<\/p>\n<p>The resolution, which was signed by the association\u2019s Chairman, Comrade Sunday Sabiyi, and the Vice-Chairman, Comrade M.A. Liman, accused the NASC and NASS of deliberate contempt of their MoU which was agreed on 14th April 2021 stating that \u201cthere would be full implementation of the new National Minimum Wage Act, 2019, and the Revised Condition of Service.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Part of the resolutions read: \u201cFollowing the Management\u2019s breach of the Memorandum of Understanding entered with PASAN on the 13th April 2021, on the full implementation of the new National Minimum Wage Act, 2019, and the Revised Condition of Service, Congress hereby observes put the management on protest notice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Efforts to speak with the Clerk\u2019s media adviser failed as his lines were switched off.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\">Nigeria<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
