Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye has said the team is in high spirits ahead of the Sudan encounter in the ongoing African Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Cameroon.<\/p>\n

Okoye said the Super Eagles would defeat any team in the tournament if they stick together.<\/p>\n

The Nigerian representative will face their Sudanese counterpart in the second match of Group D on Saturday at the Roumd\u00e9 Adija Stadium in Cameroon.<\/p>\n

Speaking with Nigeria Football Federation Television (NFF TV), Okoye said that lessons from their first match would help the team spirit against Sudan.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe bar has been raised by the Super Eagles, we are hoping that it would be maintained to the end of the tournament,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Okoye said that with a good team spirit the Eagles are ready to face any team in the tournament.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst of all, I\u2019m looking forward to good points and also having a clean sheet is also a good sign of good defending and competitive spirit.<\/p>\n

\u201cI saw a good team in the Super Eagles from behind, I was the goalkeeper against Egypt and I think we performed well collectively.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to stick together on this level and, with this, I am sure we can beat any team.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to stick together to raise the bar we have set for ourselves, we have to keep our mindset and focus on our matches because we have six more matches to go.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to stay focused and work hard ahead of our next match,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
