Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Defence Headquarters has said 863 terrorists surrendered in the last two weeks.<\/p>\n

The Director Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Bernard Onyeuko, disclosed this on Thursday while giving an update on operations of the armed forces in Abuja.<\/p>\n

Onyeuko said troops of \u201dOperation Hadin Kai\u201d neutralised 37 terrorists, arrested 17 and recovered 21 assorted arms and 117 rounds of different calibres of ammunition.<\/p>\n

He noted that four gun trucks were also captured from the terrorists while 16 abducted civilians were rescued within the period.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cThe surrendered terrorists have been properly profiled and handed over to appropriate authorities for necessary actions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Air Component also scored devastating hits on terrorists\u2019 stronghold at Arina Chiki village in the Lake Chad Basin in Borno State.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis resulted in the neutralisation of scores of the terrorist, while several others escaped with various degrees of injuries.\u201d<\/p>\n

Onyeuko also added that troops of Operation Hadarin Daji eliminated 12 bandits and arrested 15 with 16 assorted arms and 136 rounds of different calibres of ammunition as well as 114 rustled livestock recovered.<\/p>\n
