Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Super Eagles winger, Moses Simon has said he is grateful to former Nigeria coach, Gernot Rohr.<\/p>\n

Simon said this while comparing Rohr to Super Eagles interim coach, Augustine Eguavoen.<\/p>\n

The Nantes star said that Rohr gave him the opportunity to show himself, adding that the German tactician believed in him.<\/p>\n

Simon also said that Eguavoen gave him the freedom of attacking and defending less.<\/p>\n

Speaking ahead of Nigeria\u2019s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, Round of 16 tie with Tunisia on Sunday night, Simon said as quoted by NAN, \u201cWith the former coach [Rohr] I played as a wing-back and sometimes, left-back and of course, I am grateful for that because he gave me the opportunity to show myself and he believed in me.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut with this present coach [Eguavoen], he gave me the freedom of attacking and said you just go and do your thing and defend less.\u201d<\/p>\n

Simon has been a terror for defenders at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon, with his dribbling and pace on the left flank in the Super Eagles squad.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old has scored one goal and registered one assist in three games for Eguavoen\u2019s men and was named in CAF\u2019s best XI of 2021 AFCON group stage.<\/p>\n
