Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>African and Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba has taken to Twitter to respond to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp\u2019s comments about the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) being a \u201clittle tournament.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following Liverpool\u2019s convincing 4-0 victory over Arsenal in the Premier League last November, Klopp seemed to refer to AFCON as a small tournament.<\/p>\n

The Reds boss caused a stir as he described the AFCON as a \u2018little tournament\u2019 after Liverpool\u2019s Premier League victory against Arsenal.<\/p>\n

Asked if he was relieved there was no international break until March next year, Klopp replied: \u201cI have heard that so often that there is no international break until March.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn January, there is a little tournament in Africa, I just want to say, and I think Asia is playing games too, South America as well, great, can\u2019t wait.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Klopp subsequently backtracked, it did not stop Drogba from taking a jibe at the German on Twitter.<\/p>\n

The former Ivory Coast striker shared a video of Senegal fans celebrating their 2021 AFCON triumph and captioned it: \u201cA \u00ab little tournament \u00bb that means a lot for us Africans.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Liverpool were impacted the most by the AFCON out of all other Premier League sides.<\/p>\n

Klopp\u2019s side lost key first-team players in Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Naby Keita for a couple of weeks due to the AFCON tournament, which ended on Sunday night after Senegal defeated Egypt in the final.<\/p>\n
