{"id":59210,"date":"2022-02-10T15:41:57","date_gmt":"2022-02-10T14:41:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/uncategorized\/insecurity-katsina-dpo-sacrificed-his-life-for-others-shehu-sani-mourns"},"modified":"2022-02-10T16:37:11","modified_gmt":"2022-02-10T15:37:11","slug":"insecurity-katsina-dpo-sacrificed-his-life-for-others-shehu-sani-mourns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/insecurity-katsina-dpo-sacrificed-his-life-for-others-shehu-sani-mourns","title":{"rendered":"Insecurity: Katsina DPO sacrificed his life for others \u2013 Shehu Sani mourns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has revealed that the Deputy Superintendent Of Police, Abdullahi Rano, who was murdered in Katsina yesterday, died while protecting others.<\/p>\n<p>DAILY POST had reported that terrorists in their numbers struck Magama in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State early hours of Wednesday and killed the DPO and two others while robbing the community.<\/p>\n<p>The hoodlums, according to reports, used cars and motorcycles around 2:00 am on that fateful day to convey their gangs to strategic locations in their planned area of attack in readiness for a reprisal from the security agents.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting, Shehu Sani, a governorship aspirant in Kaduna State, described the DPO as a hero and martyr, saying he died an honourable death.<\/p>\n<p>In a tweet on his verified Twitter handle on Thursday, the former lawmaker extended his condolences to the family of the deceased.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Deputy Superintendent Of Police Abdullahi Rano was killed by terrorists when he courageously led a joint team against them in Katsina State.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is a hero and a martyr who sacrificed his life to secure that of others. An honourable death.
