Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has donated N2 million to 1996 Olympic gold medalist, Kingsley Obiekwu.<\/p>\n

Obiekwu, who was a member of the gold medal-winning team at Atlanta 1996, made the news last week after he was seen driving a commercial vehicle in Enugu State.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview, Obiekwu disclosed that he was experiencing financial struggles and had to resort to using his only car as a commercial vehicle in Enugu to feed his family.<\/p>\n

He lamented that so many Nigerian clubs he worked for as a coach owe him and he had no choice but to become a commercial driver.<\/p>\n

Confirming the donation, several associates of the former CSKA Moscow forward announced the development on Twitter.<\/p>\n

Hailing the philanthropic gestures of Musa, many Nigerians took to Twitter commending him for his generosity and kind-hearted spirit.<\/p>\n

Sport journalist Temisan Okomi tweeted: \u201cAhmed Musa, in my opinion, is the best Nigerian footballer ever.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlways ready with open arms and pockets. I pray his investments don\u2019t fail him and he grows extremely old in financial contentment. A true great.\u201d<\/p>\n

@TheAfrican_Hub tweeted: \u201cThis is an appreciation tweet to Super Eagles Captain of Nigeria Ahmed Musa who donated N2 million to Former Nigerian International Kingsley Obiekwu.\u201d<\/p>\n
