Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Great Britain has been stripped of the silver medal it won in the men\u2019s 4\u00d7100m relay at last year\u2019s Tokyo Olympics.<\/p>\n

The decision was taken after CJ Ujah was found to have committed a doping violation.<\/p>\n

Ujah tested positive for ostarine and S-23, which are commonly used to build muscles, after the race on August 6.<\/p>\n

The British relay team had finished second behind gold medallists in Italy.<\/p>\n

As a result of their disqualification, Canada is expected to be awarded silver, with China promoted to the bronze-medal position.<\/p>\n

A statement from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) confirmed that Ujah was \u201cfound to have committed an anti-doping rule violation\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cUjah is sanctioned with the disqualification of his results in the 4x100m sprint relay final\u2026 together with the forfeiture of any medals, diplomas, points and prizes,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n

Ujah in his own statement accepted the decision with \u201csadness\u201d but claimed he had \u201cunknowingly consumed a contaminated supplement\u201d.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old also apologised to his teammates, Zharnel Hughes, Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake and Richard Kilty.<\/p>\n
