{"id":60849,"date":"2022-03-08T17:22:49","date_gmt":"2022-03-08T16:22:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/?p=60849"},"modified":"2022-03-08T17:03:58","modified_gmt":"2022-03-08T16:03:58","slug":"stop-hoarding-fuel-ekiti-tuc-begs-marketers-urges-fg-to-end-fuel-scarcity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/economy\/stop-hoarding-fuel-ekiti-tuc-begs-marketers-urges-fg-to-end-fuel-scarcity","title":{"rendered":"Stop Hoarding Fuel \u2013 Ekiti TUC begs marketers, urges FG to end fuel scarcity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Trade Union Congress, TUC, has expressed displeasure over the sale of petroleum products above the pump price in Ekiti State.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued in Ado Ekiti, the State Chairman of the TUC Comrade Olusola Adigun charged the marketers to consider the interest of the workers, the ordinary people who need to move daily and the artisans whose daily survival is determined by the product.<\/p>\n<p>Comrade Adigun also appealed to the petrol marketers to stop hoarding fuel in the interest of the people, particularly the masses who do not have alternative sources.<\/p>\n<p>The TUC Chairman reminded the government that by the provision of Section 14, subsection 2b, which makes\u201d security and welfare of the people the primary responsibility of government\u201d, those in authority was bound to protect the people from exploitations of any kind.<\/p>\n<p>He, therefore, implored the task force on petroleum to justify the essence of its existence and protect the people from Shylock businessmen who are bent on making life unbearable for the people.<\/p>\n<p>The TUC leader noted that workers who had to move several kilometres to work were worst hit by the unjustifiable scarcity and illegal increase in the pump price and the attendant skyrocketing prices of commodities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\">Nigeria<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
