{"id":60993,"date":"2022-03-10T18:24:08","date_gmt":"2022-03-10T17:24:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/?p=60993"},"modified":"2022-03-10T17:29:18","modified_gmt":"2022-03-10T16:29:18","slug":"miss-cell-pageant-why-heads-should-roll-reno-omokri","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/policy\/miss-cell-pageant-why-heads-should-roll-reno-omokri","title":{"rendered":"Miss Cell Pageant: Why heads should roll \u2013 Reno Omokri"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Reno Omokri, a socio-political activist has condemned the beauty pageant which took place in the Kirikiri correctional facility, Chidinma Ojukwu, the killer of the Supper TV CEO, Micheal Ataga emerged as Miss Cell 2022.<\/p>\n<p>DAILY POST had reported that the 21-year-old student of the University of Lagos who allegedly stabbed her victim to death in 2021, was crowned Miss Cell 2022 during the beauty pageant in the prison to mark the 2022 International Women\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n<p>Omokri who explained that the prison should not be seen as a place of fun but a place of punishment, said some prison officials need to be sanctioned, insisting that \u201chead must roll\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>DAILY POST reports that some Nigerians had alleged that the inmate is being given preferential treatment in prison.<\/p>\n<p>They also questioned why she appeared in court recently without handcuffs and was conveyed in a cab rather than a prison vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Reno in his Facebook post said Chidinma\u2019s act was no longer an allegation, saying the media should stop using allegedly.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cPrison is a place of punishment and rehabilitation. Once it becomes a place of fun, then the whole purpose is defeated. How would the family of Usifo Ataga feel to see Chidinma prancing about as a beauty queen in prison? That is unacceptable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHeads should roll! And if heads don\u2019t roll, the question we must ask is whether Chidinma has a prison official zaddy who she is making very happy. Because the state of her hair, skin, the clothes she wore and her shoes are better than 99% of females that are free in the world outside prison!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the media should stop calling her an \u2018alleged killer\u2019. She admitted killing Usifo Ataga on camera. Once there is an admission, the charge is no longer alleged. It is proven.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat is in doubt are the circumstances. Did she do it while under the influence of fear, or drugs, or something else which we do not as yet know?
