Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Country Director, Global Peace Foundation Nigeria (GPFN), Rev. John Joseph Hayab says peaceful coexistence remains the only solution for Nigerians to realise their full potential in all spheres of life.<\/p>\n

He lamented that the security challenges bedevilling most parts of the country has reduced Nigerians struggling to live but not being able to go about their means of livelihood in order to earn a better standard of living.<\/p>\n

Speaking in a programme organised by the foundation in Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State, Rev. Hayab lamented a situation where most Nigerians cannot go out freely to pursue their means of survival for fear of the unknown.<\/p>\n

Rev. Hayab met with over 150 religious leaders, traditional rulers, government officials, women, youths and secondary school students in the state in an Interfaith Dialogue Forum with the aim to educate them on the importance to live with one another in peace, love and tolerance explained that the aim of the programme is to exchange ideas and strategize ways to better understanding of staying together in order to confront any enemy that tries to destabilize the mutual relationship of the community.<\/p>\n

According to him, \u201cPeople should make every effort to understand themselves, unite and fight anybody or group of people who try to inflict unnecessary pains on people who are trying through legitimate means to put food on their table.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cNigeria is a funny country where some group of persons decided to cause unnecessary hardships on others by making them be displaced persons or continue to cause disaffection between communities thereby making life unbearable and making them live miserable lives for the rest of their existence in the surface of the earth.\u201d<\/p>\n

He called on Nigerians irrespective of any difference to live in peace with one another in order to be their true brother keepers for a peaceful and better understanding among themselves for a better society.<\/p>\n

The Country Director appealed to the government at all levels in the country to be proactive towards ameliorating the suffering most Nigerians are going through in their communities, saying that steps should be taken to restore confidence in the hearts of Nigerians towards the affairs of the country.<\/p>\n
