Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>While the nation grapples with epileptic power supply in parts of the country, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has attributed the dire situation in Wuye and Utako axis to vandalism of its facilities.<\/p>\n

According to the AEDC officials, areas most affected due to the destruction in Wuye 2 Injection Substation, includes: NNPC Quarters, Cosgrove Estate, Reuben Okoye Street, Pius Ayim Street, Tambuwal Street, Shafa Filling station, Nation Wide Estate, DSS Quarters, Idris Gidado and its environs.<\/p>\n

For the B6 Injection Substation, areas affected are: Anthony Enahoro Street, National Assembly Commission, Ministry of Environment Annex, Aneio Hotel, KANEM Suites, Peace Park, Inuwa Wada Close, SO Williams Close, JMG Generators, Custom Quarters, Glory Estate, Dove Estate, Utako Market, IBM Haruna Street, TOS Benson Street, Alibro Plaza, Chisco Transport, and environs.<\/p>\n

AEDC\u2019s Chief Marketing Officer, Donald Etim took to a statement on Friday to explain their predicament and efforts being made to restore normalcy.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile we are working to optimally deploy the low power AEDC is being allocated daily in recent days, we are also experiencing cases of serious vandalism around our network specifically in our Wuye Substation and Utako Substations, Abuja, causing outages in those areas and environs.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur engineers are currently at both sites working to restore normal supply, estimated to be in a matter of hours.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe regret any inconveniences and appeal to customers for their understanding,\u201d Etim said in the terse statement forwarded to DAILY POST.<\/p>\n
