Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Comptroller of Immigration Service in Cross River State, Chris Baikie has lamented the reluctance of the Cross River State government to attend to their request for 34 hectares of land to erect a spacious and befitting state headquarters in Calabar.<\/p>\n

He explained that the present state headquarters is now grossly inadequate for personnel and many offices.<\/p>\n

He said his predecessors had made several appeals for land and gunboat to help them patrol the maritime boundaries without success.<\/p>\n

He said the government has been very reluctant to support or attend to their requests which should be a 50-50 win for both sides.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Cross River government is very reluctant to grant us allocation for the 34ha land to enable the Nigeria Immigration Service Cross River State Command move from its present cramped up location to a more spacious one that will be a Win-Win situation for all stakeholders!<\/p>\n

\u201cThe government has also been silent on our request for gunboat which is to be used to secure marine interests of the state.\u201d<\/p>\n

Baikie said he was not resting on his oars as he has also approached their Service headquarters Abuja on the same issue of Gunboat.<\/p>\n
