{"id":61814,"date":"2022-03-23T16:38:50","date_gmt":"2022-03-23T15:38:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/?p=61814"},"modified":"2022-03-23T16:24:03","modified_gmt":"2022-03-23T15:24:03","slug":"nigeria-vs-ghana-im-already-praying-chukwu-gives-verdicts-on-world-cup-qualifier","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\/sport\/nigeria-vs-ghana-im-already-praying-chukwu-gives-verdicts-on-world-cup-qualifier","title":{"rendered":"Nigeria vs Ghana: I\u2019m already praying \u2013 Chukwu gives verdicts on World Cup qualifier"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A former Super Eagles coach, Christian Chukwu, has given his verdict on Nigeria\u2019s 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff against the Black Stars of Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>Chukwu said he is optimistic about the Super Eagles qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup after their playoff fixture with the Black Stars of Ghana, adding that he has already started praying for the game.<\/p>\n<p>He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Wednesday that he was \u201chighly hopeful\u201d of victory for the Super Eagles at the end of the two-leg encounter.<\/p>\n<p>Nigeria and Ghana will clash on Friday at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, while it will end on Tuesday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am optimistic of the national team\u2019s victory. I am already praying and mobilizing local support for their victory,\u201d Chukwu said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am of the belief that those around for the game will deliver for Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut in a situation where some invited players do not make it, we must know that this is a sign that there is the need to groom and get home-based Super Eagles players ready to replace anybody in the squad.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chukwu, who captained the team when it was the Green Eagles, said such a situation was an indication that the Super Eagles\u2019 handlers should never neglect the home-based players.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere should be a development plan, as they (home-based players) may be so useful in times like these,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Chukwu, however, challenged the team\u2019s coaching crew to deploy a superior technical and tactical pattern of play as the Black Stars would definitely try to pull some surprises against the Super Eagles.<\/p>\n<p>He also said he was sure Nigerians would rise in full support of the team, as \u201cthey have been supporting the Super Eagles all along and they will do the same this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/nigeria\">Nigeria<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Nigeria.
