Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Bashir Ahmaad, an aide to President Muhammadu Buhari has responded to criticism following the attack on the Kaduna- Abuja train<\/p>\n

Bashir and other members of the Buhari-led administration were dragged and criticised online after the news of the death of a female doctor, Chinelo and other passengers emerged online.<\/p>\n

Chinelo was among the eight passengers who were confirmed dead on Tuesday after terrorists attacked the train.<\/p>\n

Bashir, responding, urged Nigerians not to allow dislike for the present administration or him affect their love for Nigeria.<\/p>\n

His tweet read, \u201cTo dislike me or the government I work for is a freedom of choice, which I understand and respect, but please don\u2019t let the dislike affects the love you have for this country.<\/p>\n

\u201cEight years ago we weren\u2019t here, and a year + months we won\u2019t be around, but Nigeria stays with us forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi blamed the government for failing to approve N3 billion worth of equipment to secure the lives of citizens on the train.<\/p>\n

Amaechi while inspecting the site of the bombing of the rail line between the Katari and Rijana train station along the Kaduna-Abuja route said the transport ministry has done its best to secure equipment but has not gotten approval.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me, I am devastated and honestly, I don\u2019t know what to tell Nigerians anymore.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve done all we need to do in the ministry of transport, we have forwarded them for approval but we have not gotten approval.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we need is a technology that lets you know that there are human activities or foreign activities on the track, that way, you can secure the locomotive and secure lives and I had warned earlier that it is important they get us this approval because human lives would be involved. Since that warning till today, we have had two incidents.\u201d<\/p>\n
