Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>No fewer than three traders and several others were injured when armed terrorists stormed the Yantumaki Community market in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State between 3 \u2013 4 pm on Friday.<\/p>\n

An anonymous source told DAILY POST that some traders were also kidnapped by the terrorists who held the market bound for about 40 minutes, shooting sporadically into the air, causing the traders to run for dear lives, leaving their goods behind.<\/p>\n

Besides those abducted, the hoodlums also made away with several items, including food items belonging to the traders who ran for their dear lives, the source disclosed.<\/p>\n

DAILY POST also gathered that some of the traders returned very late from their hideouts to find their goods destroyed or trampled on.<\/p>\n

The source said the remains of the three traders killed and those injured by the terrorists were taken to the police station.<\/p>\n

SP Gambo Isah, spokesman of Katsina State Police Command, while confirming the attack said the terrorists stormed the market riding on four motorcycles and shot six people of which one of them died on the spot.<\/p>\n

SP Gambo said: \u201cToday (Friday) some terrorists attacked the GSM section of Yantumaki Market, shooting sporadically.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey shot six people and stole many handsets. One died and five were taken to Danmusa General Hospital. Some of them were later transferred to Dutsinma and Katsina General Hospitals. The situation is under control now.\u201d<\/p>\n
