Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Arewa Youths Consultative Forum, AYCF, has backed Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State on his decision to involve mercenaries to tackle bandits in the State.<\/p>\n

AYCF National President, Yerima Shettima, said El-Rufai should involve foreign mercenaries if such a measure would protect residents of Kaduna.<\/p>\n

El-Rufai had vowed to bring in foreign mercenaries if the Federal Government fails to tackle terrorism and general insecurity in the State.<\/p>\n

However, Shettima, who spoke to DAILY POST, said if El-Rufai\u2019s stance would bring about the needed result, he should go ahead.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI\u2019m in total support of that because it\u2019s the duty of El-Rufai to protect the citizens of Kaduna going by the constitution.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, if he feels he can no longer trust our security forces as a result of their compromises in one way or the other, then there is no reason not to bring in the mercenaries.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd on this, I totally support and agree with him. All we want now is the result. Let\u2019s bring this madness to a standstill once and for all.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s no story that we have all the Military Forces\u2019 base in Kaduna, apart from Abuja, but that notwithstanding, this is not the time to go through all these bottlenecks. We need a radical change and approach to keep Kaduna safe. With all their presence, what good is it to Nigerians and Kaduna today?<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, if that is the only way he thinks, then let him do it; we can\u2019t continue with this humiliation.\u201d<\/p>\n
