Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The Delta State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has deployed 2,418 personnel to secure lives as well as man critical government infrastructures during the Easter celebration in the state.<\/p>\n

The State Commandant of the NSCDC, Akinsanya I A, approved the deployment.<\/p>\n

He noted that Delta State peace being enjoyed in the State should not be taken for granted hence the Command\u2019s personnel will be complementing other security agencies in providing watertight security coverage before, during and after the celebration.<\/p>\n

This was contained in a statement signed by NSCDC Public Relations Officer, DSC Emeka Peters.<\/p>\n

The NSCDC image maker said the deployment is \u201cIn line with the core mandate of the NSCDC in the protection of lives and properties.<\/p>\n

He stressed the readiness of the Commandant led administration in maintaining peace and order in the State.<\/p>\n

The NSCDC boss maintained that the personnel were drafted from the Tactical Squad, the Anti-Vandal Unit, the Agro-Rangers, Counter Terrorism Unit CTU, the Rapid Respond Unit, Operations Dept, the Snipper Combatant (Female Squad) and the Department of Intelligence and Investigation (DII).<\/p>\n

He directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Component Commanders and Squadron Leaders to supervise and monitor the deployed officers and ensure they operate within the extant laws and discharge their duty with professionalism in line with international best practices.<\/p>\n

The NSCDC Commandant used the opportunity of the Easter celebration to admonish all Christians to love one another just as Christ loved the Church in order to engender a godly society.<\/p>\n
