Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba has approved the promotion of 21,039 junior officers.<\/p>\n

The officers were last elevated on or before 2017.<\/p>\n

Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi announced the approval in a statement on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The promotion comprises 20,572 Sergeants to Inspector, 324 Corporals to Sergeants, and 143 Constables to Corporal.<\/p>\n

Adejobi said it is part of efforts aimed at improving the welfare, conditions of service and boosting the morale of personnel for greater efficiency.<\/p>\n

Baba assured that he remained committed to manpower development to ensure that deserving personnel are rewarded to encourage hard work.<\/p>\n

The IGP informed senior police officers that the Force high command is liaising with the Police Service Commission (PSC) on the release of their promotion.<\/p>\n

He commended the newly-promoted officers for their resilience and charged them to see their new ranks as a call for renewed zeal, vigour and patriotism to duty.<\/p>\n
