Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Politicians aspiring for elective positions in Taraba State and the country at large have been urged to refrain from acts capable of igniting crisis during the electioneering campaigns.<\/p>\n

The call which came from the speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Joseph Albasu Kunini in a press statement by his Chief of Staff, Sukuji Bakoji, on Saturday advised politicians and aspirants to play the game of politics according to laid down rules.<\/p>\n

The speaker who expressed the belief that the elections can on be carried out in a peaceful environment devoid of crisis urged politicians to caution their supporters to shun all forms of violence during electioneering campaigns for a peaceful conduct of the 2023 general elections.<\/p>\n

He also advised Christians to use the solemn occasion of Easter to deeply reflect on the supreme sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind rather than indulging in acts capable of frustrating the peace efforts of the leaders<\/p>\n

\u201dChristians should also pray fervently for the restoration of peace and security in our dear state and the nation which have been bedevilled by the insecurity of lives and property, he advised\/\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLeadership is a calling and challenge to serve humanity, especially in governance, the role of an ideal leader is to identify and meet the legitimate needs of the people, as well as to guarantee their security and welfare, being the primary purpose of government in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n
