Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Reports reaching DAILY POST from Oyo town in Oyo State have it that the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Atanda Olayiwola Adeyemi has joined his ancestors.<\/p>\n

DAILY POST gathered that the monarch died on Friday.<\/p>\n

Sources said he died at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, late Friday.<\/p>\n

The remains of the monarch have been brought to Oyo in the early hours of Saturday (today) according to the sources.<\/p>\n

The monarch was 83 before he joined his ancestors.<\/p>\n

The monarch reigned for 52 years, which made him the longest serving monarch in the State.<\/p>\n

The governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde is expected to make an official statement on the passage of the monarch.<\/p>\n

Alaafin\u2019s death is coming a few months after the passing on of some prominent monarchs in the State.<\/p>\n

DAILY POST recalls that the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi joined his ancestors on December 12th, 2021.<\/p>\n

The 41 Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji joined his ancestors on January 2nd, 2022.<\/p>\n
