Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State has said that he has never believed in the method of operation of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.<\/p>\n

The Governor said that when he and other like minds warned that the South East will get to this current security situation, some people played politics with it.<\/p>\n

He called on Southern leaders to work towards finding a political solution in resolving some challenging issues, warning that the region is at \u2018\u2018crossroads.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

Umahi spoke in a meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and leaders of the South East region in Ebonyi State on Friday.<\/p>\n

President Buhari is in Ebonyi State for a two-day working visit.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2018On this issue of a political solution, I have never believed in IPOB\u2019s method of operation, I disagree with them but we have gotten ourselves to a very terrible and pitiable solution,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2018Some of us warned that we will get to this situation and some were playing politics with it.<\/p>\n

\u201cMr President, we are at crossroads. I have been to you and I have begged you for a political solution.<\/p>\n

\u201cSurprisingly and graciously you granted that. You said our people should initiate that and at the forefront is Nnamdi Kanu\u2019s lawyer.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Governor, therefore, urged the President of Ohaneze Ndigbo to meet with elder statesman, Mbazuluike Amaechi, the Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), South East, the Chairman of South-East Traditional Rulers Council, Nnamdi Kanu\u2019s lawyer and few others to initiate the political solution.<\/p>\n
