Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>A member of the Anambra State House of Assembly representing Aguata II, Okechukwu Okoye has been beheaded.<\/p>\n

Okoye\u2019s severed head was found on Saturday at Nnobi in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.<\/p>\n

The deceased lawmaker, who represented the constituency of the State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo in the State House of Assembly, was kidnapped last week.<\/p>\n

Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed the discovery of Okoye\u2019s head.<\/p>\n

Ikenga said the lawmaker\u2019s body was not found at the spot where his head was discovered.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis head was found along Nnobi road on Saturday. There is no suspect in custody yet,\u201d the PPRO said.<\/p>\n

Okoye and one other person were kidnapped at Aguata.<\/p>\n

Following his abduction, the police began a manhunt to rescue the lawmaker.<\/p>\n
