Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky has said he had talks with Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and both sides agreed on the need to restore peace in his country amid the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnanimously, we agreed on the need to restore peace. We appreciate Turkey\u2019s help in this process,\u201d Zelensky tweeted on Monday night after the talks.<\/p>\n

During the conversation, Zelensky and Erdogan also discussed the threats to food security due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the ways to unblock Ukraine\u2019s ports.<\/p>\n

They also discussed cooperation in the security sphere.<\/p>\n

A statement by Erdogan\u2019s office said Turkey attaches importance to the project of creating a safe corridor for the export of Ukraine\u2019s agricultural products by sea.<\/p>\n

The statement said Turkey had made every effort to continue the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.<\/p>\n

It also said that Turkey is ready to provide the needed support, including mediation.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Erdogan held phone talks with Russian President, Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n
