Africa-Press – Nigeria. <\/strong><\/span>The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Senator Teslim Folarin has advised Muslims in the state to use the period of the Eld-Kabir festival to pray for the state and Nigeria to overcome the present challenges.<\/p>\n

Folarin who represents Oyo central senatorial district at the national assembly made this assertion on Friday.<\/p>\n

The Eld-Kabir festival would be observed by Muslims across the globe tomorrow on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The federal government through the minister of interior had declared Monday and Tuesday as public holidays to celebrate the festival.<\/p>\n

Folarin while felicitating with the residents of the state, advised them to use the period to pray for the state and the country in general to overcome the present challenges such as insecurity, inflation and other social problems.<\/p>\n

He urged the residents to celebrate with the hope that a better tomorrow awaits the state.<\/p>\n

Folarin said, \u201cIn the spirit of Eid-ul-Adha, Muslims should imbibe the injunctions of Prophet Muhammed (SAW), which teach humility, gratitude and charity towards one another.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe sacrifice of Prophet Ibraheem, which we celebrate, must spur us on to sacrifice for the progress and prosperity of Oyo State and Nigeria. Sacrificing for our state and country means giving our best in our various areas of endeavour.<\/p>\n

\u201cFellow citizens of Oyo State, let us celebrate this Holy Festival with optimism and unflinching hope that a better tomorrow awaits the Pacesetter State.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet us take the opportunity of this Holy occasion to pray for Oyo State and Nigeria to overcome the current security and economic crises\u201d.<\/p>\n
